Airmen projected to deploy or have recently returned from a deployment can participate in the PLAYpass Get out and Play Program and save $500 to $1,000 on installation programs.

The PLAYpass program is based upon discount cards which provide eligible Airmen and family members the opportunity to participate in force support squadron programs for free or at a reduced cost.

To obtain a PLAYpass card, eligible members must bring a copy of their deployment orders to the Airman and Family Readiness Center.

Furloughs reduced for Team Holloman

The more than 800 civilian employees at Holloman Air Force Base affected by the 11-week furlough announced in May will resume a normal work schedule beginning Aug. 19.

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced Aug. 6 that, due to a combination of Congressional approvals and Department of Defense budget management efforts, the furloughs for most DOD civilian employees would be reduced from 11 to six days.

The furlough began July 8 and required Holloman's 826 civilian employees paid with appropriated funds to take one unpaid furlough day per week through the end of the fiscal year.
