Here are tips for keeping the number of flies and mosquitoes down around your residence.

Mosquitoes
For mosquitoes, eliminate any standing water. Look for areas around flowerpots, outside toys, grills, tin cans, old tires, buckets, unused plastic swimming pools and any container that collects and holds water. Change the water in birdbaths and wading pools at least once a week.

Mosquitoes usually live their lives within a mile from where they hatch.

The 2010 Air Force Ball will be held Sept. 17, beginning with a social hour at 6 p.m. at the Clovis Civic Center followed by dinner at 7 p.m.

Guest speaker with be retired Gen. Charles Holland, former Commander, United States Special Operations Command.

Ticket prices range between $15 and $30, depending on rank. Interested individuals should contact their units for more information. For child care at the Child Development Center, call 784-2702 .

On July 30,  27th Special Operations Medical Support Squadron journeyed to the Women's Medical Center in Clovis, N.M. to provide a team building effective communication exercise.
 
Capt. Melissa Petak, a Medical Support Squadron flight commander, Tammy Adkins, information technologist, and Collette Delgado, community relations officer were invited by Kathy Teston, WMC Administrator to brief 32 employees on enhanced effective communications within a patient-centric environment.
