SFO Grand Haven carries on the Coast Guard’s Proud tradition of mission exellence in eastern Lake Michigan. The unit’s primary responsibilities are logistics, prevention, and response. Logistically we provide engineering, weapons, and medical support of the nine USCG small boat stations along the east side of Lake Michigan, located in Charlevoix, Frankfort, Manistee, Ludington, Muskegon, Grand Haven, Holland, St. Joseph and Michigan City (Indiana). Prevention responsibilities include vessel and facility inspections and investigations of marine casualties that occur along the west coast of the state of Michigan.
