Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake is the Navy’s largest single landholding, representing 34 percent of the Navy’s total land worldwide. The restricted airspace is composed of 19,600 square miles of controlled airspace, totaling 12 percent of California’s total airspace and provides an unprecedented venue for integrated testing and training of today’s war fighter. More than 95 percent of its 1.1-million acres has remained undisturbed during the course of NAWS mission.
