District 7′s Headquarters is located in Miami, Florida and its area of responsibility includes South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, the Keys and the Carribean. Its missions include law enforcement, port security, drug interdiction, search and rescue, and marine safety. District Seven is at the forefront of the counter narcotics effort, directing more than 90 percent of all Coast Guard drug interdiction operations since 1973.
