The Army Training Center and Fort Jackson executes Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training; enhances our Drill Sergeant and Cadre Leader Training; and synchronizes our Service Support Operating Systems in order to effectively transform civilians, train Soldiers, and develop leaders who live the Warrior Ethos, are physically tough, mentally adaptive, and able to contribute to the success of their first unit of assignment supporting ARFORGEN requirements for both the Operational Army and the Generating Force.

A pair of Fort Jackson drill sergeants hope to put 100 hikers on a 10K trail this weekend. Sgt. 1st Class James Allred and Staff Sgt. Wayne Whitbeck, drill sergeants with the 3rd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment, are staging an event Saturday morning to raise awareness for Ruck for a Cure, a non-profit organization they founded earlier in the year. Ruck for a Cure is designed to raise money and awareness for cancer and related research.

The two veterans are biking across the nation, travelling 4,500 miles across 14 states in 100 days, to draw attention to health care challenges in the military.
