"NSSC This Week," the bi-weekly newsletter of the Natick Soldier Systems Center, took first place in the 2011 U.S. Army Installation Management Command Maj. Gen. Keith L. Ware public affairs communications awards, which were announced Feb. 21.

Each of the 174 Infantrymen who graduated Friday at the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center received a 2012 Infantry Soldier Silver Dollar. The coin, just released for purchase Thursday, commemorates the Infantryman. The gifted coins -- 230 in total which were given to the graduates, cadre, support staff and special guests -- were paid for by a private supporter of the Army.

FORT BENNING, Ga. -- The Armor School has a new top enlisted Soldier up on the mount. Command Sgt. Maj. Miles Wilson took over the position during a change of responsibility ceremony Thursday at Derby Auditorium in McGinnis-Wickam Hall. He replaces Command Sgt. Maj. Ricky Young, who retired after more than 28 years on active duty.

Fort Benning brought in a seasoned Hawaiian warrior Wednesday to revive its Combat Leader Speaker Program. Allen Hoe, who served in Vietnam and is now a Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, addressed an estimated 1,000 Soldiers, NCOs and junior officers in various courses here during a presentation at Marshall Auditorium in McGinnis-Wickam Hall. He also spoke about the personal pain and heartache he's faced since losing his oldest son, Nainoa, to a sniper's bullet in Iraq near Mosul in 2005.

The Air Assault Course is coming to Fort Hood, Texas. The 10-day course, which trains and tests Soldiers in air assault combat operations, sling load and rigging operations, and rappelling from a helicopter, will now have a permanent place at the installation.
