The former top cop on the carrier George H.W. Bush was busted from senior chief to petty officer third class and sentenced to 179 days’ confinement late Friday night by a military jury that earlier convicted him on four charges of cruelty and maltreatment of junior sailors he supervised from 2008-2010.

The Navy men's heavyweight crew capped off an undefeated weekend with its Varsity Eight crew and defeated Oxford in the Potomac Challenge Cup final to be crowned the George Washington Invitational Champions. An airman first class assigned to the 52nd Fighter Wing here was pronounced dead at approximately 2:30 a.m. today at a local hospital.
The Airman was found incoherent and unresponsive by higher-ranking servicemembers conducting a no-notice dormitory inspection here April 7. The Airman was rushed to a local hospital where his condition worsened and he died.
The name of the Airman is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
