The Mission of the 186th Air Refueling Wing is to provide air-to-air refueling support to current operational missions of the USAF and provide air refueling to tactical, strategic, and airlift aircraft. this mission inlcudes qualification and continuation training and maintenance and operations of KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft and personnel.
Conveniently located in East Mississippi, Meridian Regional Airport offers jet service, with two daily flights to Atlanta and two return flights, giving flyers in the region easy access to destinations nationwide and internationally. With boardings averaging 2,000 per month, the Meridian Regional Airport is an attractive travel option for flyers in the East Mississippi and West Alabama area.
