Master Sgt. Ralph Oliver, 36th Judge Advocate Office noncommissioned officer in charge of military justice, and Tech. Sgt. Tyrone Yeargin, 736th Security Forces Operations NCO in charge, were recently promoted under the STEP program.

"They set it up as if I was going to give a brief on a past health and wellness inspection," Sergeant Oliver said. "I was wondering what was going on when the general began speaking about my performance and prior career experience. Then he pulled stripes from a folder and told me I deserved to be a master sergeant."

The clinic performs full-scope primary eye care for all active duty members, their dependents and retirees. The process includes prescribing glasses as well as screening and treating ocular disease and injuries.

In this region of the Pacific, Santa doesn't fly with 12 reindeer or climb down the chimney to deliver gifts. He drops them from hundreds of feet in the air from the back of a C-130 Hercules.

The Air Force plans to deliver 60 pallets of gifts to about 50 islands to help support Guam's neighbors during Operation Christmas Drop, a four-day airdrop mission which delivers donated supplies and gifts to those in need. Frost on the windshield, hot cocoa, and the sound of ringing bells at the mall would often usher in the holiday spirit for many servicemembers. However, in this tropical paradise, the Yuletide joy can often be lost.

"For the Airmen who are thousands of miles away from family, friends and loved ones back home, this event gives them a taste of their traditional childhood holidays."
